ok, so it occurred to me over Christmas that my flist has grown to proportions that startle and surprise me. haha. I remember thinking I was in the money when there were 25 people. it occurred to me pretty rapidly after that that there is a large proportion of you that I know nothing about. it was one at a time sort of a deal and then I blinked overnight and...look at all the people. well gaw-llyy.
so I never thought I'd be making a post like this, but hey! I wanna know all about you :) well maybe not *all* about you, I don't need your entire life story or anything but you know...something interesting about you, a little hi-how-you-doin. it would also be interesting to find out what brought you to friend me, like a specific fic or what have you, especially if we've never spoken. I was a lurker for a long time, I know it's scary *coaxes you out of the woodwork with cookies, and milk for those who are not lactose intolerant* I don't bite. at least, not when I'm sober. that said, this isn't just for people I've never talked to before...there are plenty of you that I chat with occasionally and don't know much about. I wanna know more *is greedy*
ok, I'll go first. my name is Turkish and distinctive, so I go by Mel, here and elsewhere in RL. my dad immigrated here by himself for college when he was 16, where he met my mom. he's the type of person that is a frigging genius, but has so little common sense he needs help putting his pants on in the morning. though not literally, thank god. have a big sister who designs porn sites, among other things. yes, really. must run in the family *g* she and my brother-in-law both know about my fic and she reads it occasionally...my brother in law just settles for constant teasing and trying to make me apoplectic by pairing Jon Stewart with various other men, cuz...*secret guh*. Spangel is my otp, in case you've been hanging around here and somehow haven't gleaned that information. they're what brought me to the fandom, when I stumbled across a ship manifesto and went, omg, my two favorite characters have been fucking under my nose. though again not literally, and this time...damn. uh. what else. trying to carve out a career for myself in conservation, and some days I actually believe I might be able to pull that off, and get someone to pay me to boot. other days, not so much. proud to be a Texan *and* a Democrat, though some days I regret the former if never the latter. though the dems are pissing me off at the moment on one or two fronts. I'm not gonna get all political, although in RL I am. *very* political, hopefully in a well-informed way. and uh. my favorite color is purple and my favorite animal is the wombat, because they can kill predators with their ass. *snickers*
*takes a bow and dashes back to her seat*
